2. Hosting and server log files
Our websites are hosted on servers operated by Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany) within the EU. When you visit our pages, the web server automatically processes technical access data (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type) as far as necessary to deliver and secure the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log data is kept only briefly and is not combined with other data sources. Technical server maintenance is carried out by our service provider under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).
3. Application form (internship)
If you apply for an internship via our form, we process the data you provide (name, email address, optionally phone, degree course, preferred period, message and optionally uploaded documents such as a CV) exclusively to handle your application and to contact you. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to entering into a contract) and § 26 BDSG. The data is deleted automatically 180 days after receipt unless a collaboration results. It is not shared with third parties.
4. Contact by email or phone
If you contact us by email or phone, we process your details to handle the enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them once they are no longer required, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
5. Campus (learning platform)
For onboarding our interns we operate a learning platform (Moodle) at campus.sportik.org. There we process account data (name, email address) as well as learning progress and quiz results of registered participants for the purpose of onboarding (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The platform uses technically necessary session cookies for login (§ 25(2) TDDDG). Courses may embed YouTube videos; when you play a video, a connection to Google/YouTube servers is established and YouTube may set its own cookies and process usage data. See Google's privacy policy for details.
6. Web analytics with Matomo
We use the open-source analytics software Matomo, operated by our service provider on a server in an EU data centre (Helsinki, Finland) — by default without cookies and with shortened IP addresses. Only if you agree in our notice banner is a Matomo cookie set to recognise returning visits (§ 25(1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); you can undo this at any time by deleting this website's data stored in your browser — the banner will then ask again. The data is not combined with other data or passed on to third parties. The legal basis for the cookieless measurement is our legitimate interest in statistical analysis of website usage (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
7. SSL/TLS encryption
All pages are delivered exclusively over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
8. Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16),
erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability
(Art. 20) and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21).
