The German Motor Test

How fit are Berlin's third-graders? The German Motor Test (DMT) measures endurance, strength, speed, coordination and flexibility in children aged 8 to 10 – at eight stations, in a single school morning, run by our team.
In the “Berlin hat Talent” programme we test thousands of children every school year, together with the Berlin Senate administration and the Landessportbund Berlin. You'll get to know every station in our online onboarding – and then take to the gym yourself.
  • Balancing backwards
  • Sideways jumping
  • Standing long jump
  • 20-metre sprint
  • Push-ups
  • Sit-ups
  • Height and weight measurement
  • 6-minute endurance run

More than an internship: what you learn

Four skills that take you further – at university, at work, in life. Our educational concept follows the 4C model.
C1

Communication

Speaking in front of a class, guiding small groups, feedback based on Schulz von Thun: you learn to plan, place and control your messages.
C2

Collaboration

In a team of 6–8 interns between children, school and Senate administration: clarifying roles, resolving conflicting goals, delivering together.
C3

Creativity

Every hall is different. Not enough space, missing lists? You come up with solutions every morning – agile working in its most direct form.
C4

Critical thinking

Measured data instead of prejudice: you experience scientific rigour with objectivity, reliability and validity – live in the sports hall.

Voices from the team

“You notice straight away how much the children enjoy the stations – and how quickly you take on responsibility yourself.”
Tamina Garelli, Intern
“The morning sessions fit perfectly around my studies, and I could use the data directly for my seminar paper.”
Moritz Feyerabend, Team Leader
